A fanatic, a fundamentalist is someone who does not question his beliefs. He does not ask what belief is per se. He prefers to think something is so because there's a lot invested in this belief. Perhaps he was programmed from a very young age. There is accompanying desire and fear. If he desires the so called after life then he fears that if he does not obey the tradition he will lose it.
The root of the word 'Muslim' means 'a slave'. So it's like making a religion out of a tyranny. Why not make someone like Hitler or Stalin its chief prophet then, wouldn't that be fitting.

One has to break free of organized hierarchical 'religions'. Even the more 'civilized' ones have completely lost the fundamental core. What's left is meaningless rites and beliefs.

The root of the word religion, religare, in truth means to save energy to transcend the human condition. We need energy that is lost by not sleeping well, going to the pub, by incessant gossip and entertainment, eating low quality food or working too much. We must take a good care of ourselves, of the body, that's an absolute priority.
